TMG Partners with Newport News Shipbuilding Supply Chain Procurement to improve Leader and Team Performance
TMG’s first project in 2002 was supporting the Welding School Modernization Project and over our 14 year history we have a long and very strong partnership with NNS. Shipbuilding is a part of TMG’s DNA. One of our major projects was working with Deck plate Foreman in the Steel Fabrication and Assembly Division from 2003-2008. We are extremely proud that NNS has again shown their confidence in us to help in the area of building Leaders and High Performance Teams in their Supply Chain Procurement Division.
According to Joe Barto, “Leadership in Supply Chain Procurement may have a bigger impact on manufacturing performance than the Production/Manufacturing Line Leaders. The challenge is Supply Chain is these Leaders have little or no formal authority over the multiple team mates (Engineering, Waterfront, Vendors, and Finance) but the best Supply Chain Buyer and Procurement Specialist are great Leaders. This is exactly the type of challenge we love at TMG.”
